Born in Chittagong, Rokeya Sultana is a highly awarded artist where she serves as the Head of the Printmaking department at the University of Dhaka. A Fulbright scholar, her research enabled her to develop a new symbolic vocabulary that reflects the complexities of today’s mass-produced chaos that inundates our senses. She gained critical acclaim for her spectacular monotypes & pressure prints which have been widely exhibited. She studied at the University of Dhaka, Vishwa Bharati University, Santiniketan & at L’ Atelier et Lacouriere Frelaut. Rokeya Sultana’s art is a reflection of loss & displacement & the impermanence of life.
